Lettering is the art of drawing letters, and it’s a design tool that can add drama to your design if done right. Lettering is an interesting art form because it involves drawing letters. Drawing letters is something we all do, and you can honestly call us all letters, but some designers have taken lettering to a digital level.

The Instagram account of Karin aka ipadlettering is full of beautiful hand-illustrated letters all illustrated on you guessed it her iPad. Her account is an awesome source for inspiration. She pairs her letting with either white on a color background or a colorful gradient lettering on white background. There are also process videos.

Her website ipadletting.com is not as impressive as her Instagram account, but you can enjoy freebies or buy art bushes for your iPad lettering.

I’m happy to say that this is a “hand job” we all can enjoy. Get it hand lettering hand job.

Who’s with me? 🙋🏼 Coffee first – always! 😂 The flourishes in today’s piece are from Teela’s @everytuesday Fantastic Flourishes practice sheet 😊 I had so much fun making this! Using the practice sheet is a great way to learn where to place the swirls and doodles. If you would like to find out more, head over to my website (link in profile) and have a look at the ‘Courses’ page 😊 . . iPad Pro 12.9” 🖌 is ‘Crosshatch’. Practice sheets with these words are available from my website – see link in profile 😊 . . . • Made with the #Procreate app on #iPadPro 12.9” with #ApplePencil. • // t o p 1 0 0 w o r d s // • Day 82 of the #top100words challenge 😄 I decided to go with a bit of a Christmas theme today – here’s a quick tutorial: 1️⃣ After writing your word – lock the alpha channel of the layer by swiping it to the right with 2 fingers 2️⃣ Add a white layer below the layer with your word 3️⃣ Use the eraser to create the zig-zag lines 4️⃣ Fill in half of the triangles with a different color 5️⃣ Create the highlights by using a snowflake brush . iPad Pro 12.9” 🖌 are ‘Double Line’ and ‘Extended Script’ from the Keep Lettering set. Practice sheets with these words are available from my website – see link in profile 😊 . ….
