AIGA Saint Louis January Community Meeting Recap

Thank you to all who attended our first AIGA Saint Louis community meeting on January 18. For those of you who weren’t able to make it, here’s a recap!

This was the first of many quarterly community meetings to come. To kick things off, AIGA Saint Louis introduced the 2021 board of directors, recapped our successful 2020 events, shared the findings from our recent programming survey, and provided a glance at upcoming events.

Then, we opened up a discussion with our attendees to hear what kind of programming and events they wanted to see more of and participate in. People were interested in learning about accessibility in design, accessing more hands-on workshops, as well as exploring the cross-pollination of different designers (i.e. advertising, in-house, healthcare) to see what we can learn from each other.

Attendees also shared a desire to have a balance between virtual and in-person events moving forward, as many have found virtual events easier to attend. Additionally, there was interest in collaborating with other AIGA chapters that would allow for more connection and a variety of events.

Moving forward, these quarterly community meetings will provide a space for us to share ideas, meet like-minded creatives, and build meaningful relationships with one another. Everyone is welcome to join; members, non-members, designers, illustrators, developers, and beyond. We hope you’ll join us!
