We are all built to see the world differently. It’s one of our unique, innovative traits. We all say we want to be a part of changing the world, but how do we actually accomplish this and can we actually make a difference? This presentation will give you thoughts, prompts and examples on how you can use your gifts to See Different.

Ilene Sandler "Design, Tech & the Bleeding Edge"
Bleeding edge refers to the risks you take in adopting new, but immature technology. At one point, email was even considered to be bleeding edge. Designers, engineers, writers, product and marketing people often work together towards the same end game of fundamentally changing customer behaviors. The path to do so is often fast and full of risks. Designing for new products and for new user behaviors involves a lot of uncertainty and stress but also enormous potential. As one who has worked on bleeding edge projects, looking back, these were the projects where I learned the most. For energetic designers comfortable with uncertainty, the bleeding edge is the place to be.
