Intersectionality of Photography

Your unique experience as a person shapes your identity and how you see the world. Can you relate to another person’s unique experiences? Intersectionality operates as both the observance and analysis of power imbalances, and the tool by which those power imbalances could be eliminated altogether.

Vanessa Charlot is a documentary photographer focused on intersectionality. In her work, Vanessa highlights marginalized people to give a more in-depth understanding of varying identities and perspectives. She aims to break down the preconceived perceptions of identity to prove that, in the end, we are all people.
