Ken Barber, a type designer and letterer at House Industries, will be educating the AIGA St. Louis community on the art of hand lettering. He will start the weekend off with a general public lecture on Friday night at UMSL Grand Center (7:00 pm) followed by (2) one day lettering workshops (9:00am-5:00pm).
Saturday’s theme will consist of general hand lettering and Sunday’s theme is script lettering. These workshops will provide participants with a basic overview of hand lettering while referencing an assortment of letter styles and various techniques.
An informative slide presentation, instructional demonstration and useful skill- building exercises will provide a practical foundation for enhancing your portfolio.
$140 for AIGA members
$30 for student contributors
$190 for non-members
Seats are limited and will be given on a first come first serve basis with priority given to members and students! Each ticket includes instructional workshop, lunch/snacks/beverages and the following supplies:

Students who wish to participate in a workshop must submit two hand-lettered images at least 1000x1000px in JPEG format to firstname.lastname@example.org. Ken will select 12 students who show strong interest in lettering based on their submissions.!
