Tension in Creativity

But while people try to avoid it, tension is a key part of distinctive strategy, insights, and creative ideas. Tension can lead us to grow, try new things and develop better creative outcomes. On October 10, hear from Jeff Rifkin and Justin Zimmerman, founding partners of Destroy Agency, about changing your approach to tap into tension in the creative process.

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS:

Jeff Rifkin

Jeff has developed an extremely well-rounded background in brand marketing. An Art Director by trade, he brings the ability to provide strategic thinking that manifests itself in ways that best achieve the clients’ goals — from simple graphic solutions to integrated campaigns. In this time, Jeff’s expertise has benefitted a broad range of clients including Brown-Foreman, Craft Brew Alliance, Coca-Cola, Comcast, Anheuser Busch, Emerson, Luxco, and many more.

Before Jeff’s career in marketing he had experience building a brand, by being one of the owners/founders of Big Shark Bicycle Company.

Personally, Jeff lives in Shrewsbury, Missouri with his wife, Amy, and their combined family of 5 kids, their one-eyed chihuahua Jack, and pitbull Cash Money. Jeff is an obsessive music and movie fanatic. When he’s not doing family things he enjoys making good cocktails, lounging poolside, skateboarding in empty pools, riding bikes and writing haiku movie reviews for one of his many Instagram accounts.

Justin Zimmerman

Justin has over 20 years of strategic marketing experience working with leading CPG brands, specifically in the Food & Beverage categories.

As a strategist and planner, Justin has worked with globally renowned companies such as Anheuser-Busch InBev, Campbell’s Snacks, Keurig Dr Pepper, and Red Bull on projects across the marketing spectrum.

Justin also holds an MBA from Emory University, but he firmly believes his best education came from his 10 years with Red Bull where he learned to tear up the old marketing playbooks and constantly seek new ways to engage consumers. He combines strong strategic thinking with a restless passion for identifying key insights to inform and drive unique solutions for a brand’s business.

Outside of the office, Justin is a die-hard college football and hockey fan, as well as a reformed aspiring musician, but he now limits his performances to living room showcases in front of his wife and twins.
