Designer / Motion Graphics Professional Marco Cheatham + Preston Gibson will share the techniques and methods they use in their daily practice to produce award-winning work for clients.

Marco Cheatham (Designer) and Preston Gibson (Animator) will walk you through the
basics of creating a simple animation.

This workshop is for beginners and people who are curious about the motion design process.
We will cover what it means to design for motion, the tools used to create it, and the basic principles of animation.

You will learn about storyboards and style frames, developing strong, visual narratives, and why it’s important to think through each frame before ever touching a keyframe.

About the Presenters

Marco Cheatham

Marco Cheatham is a Designer and Art Director. He graduated from UMSL with a BFA in Studio Arts with an emphasis in Graphic design.

He is obsessed with good design, finding simple solutions to complex problems, and his collection of hats and socks.

Preston Gibson

Preston Gibson designs & directs & animates things. His work runs the gamut from 2d to 3d to VFX.

He graduated from Savannah College of Art & Design with an MFA in Motion Design, and that’s a big deal apparently.
